Monday, January 21st, 2008

Your favorite homework assignment of the week is back! Since we are not reading a story during this short week, we are learning math and science words. Be sure your sentences make sense.

Same as before. Click on the comments link below this. After you do that, type in your name, your email address, and the anti-spam word. Then type your sentences. Once you have checked to make sure they are correct, hit submit comments. They might not show up right away because they are sent to me before they are published. I will publish them for everyone else to see a couple times during the night. So, give me your best sentences. You will get your name in the jar if you write your sentences here. Then I will pull a winner to pick from the prize box!

Midway’s Science and Math Labs

We have a date for the Midway! (Oct. 18) Parents, please turn in your insurance papers if you can drive. I have heard wonderful things about this trip and am looking forward to it. Below is a quick description of what we’ll do.

Grade 5: On Board With Weather

Batten down the hatches…

During its marathon sea deployments Midway operated from the cold weather seas near the Arctic Circle to the sweltering heat of the Persian Gulf.  Come on board and learn how weather affected all aspects of midway life from launching and recovery of its aircraft to re-supplying the aircraft carrier at sea.  In an exclusive visit to the Task Force Control center where the Admiral was in a simulated hurricane-tracking exercise.  As students plot the longitude and latitude of the hurricane’s location, they will make recommendations on how to safely manage a fleet of ships under their control.
